Inspectly is a Danish PropTech company developing AI-powered inspection and quality assurance tools for the construction sector. As part of their strategic research agenda, they needed a structured analysis of how — and how quickly — AI and digital transformation are being adopted across the UK construction market, which represents a key expansion target.
I joined as a Project Consultant Intern in March 2026, tasked with building the research foundation for Inspectly's market positioning strategy.
Multi-framework research methodology
Rather than relying on a single lens, I applied four complementary analytical frameworks to build a layered picture of the market — covering organisational readiness, innovation diffusion, technology acceptance, and the macro environment.
"Construction is one of the least digitised sectors in Europe — which means the opportunity for well-positioned AI tools is significant, if the barriers to adoption are properly understood."
The research mapped both the drivers pushing AI uptake (productivity pressure, labour shortages, regulatory compliance demands) and the barriers slowing it (fragmented supply chains, low digital literacy, procurement risk-aversion), giving Inspectly a nuanced picture of where and how to position their product.
One output from this research was a digital readiness diagnostic — a 15-question assessment that helps UK construction companies understand where they sit on the digital transformation spectrum.
