Studenterhus Aarhus is one of Denmark's most active student cultural houses, serving a large and diverse community of Danish and international students. I joined as a volunteer in 2021 and grew into a leadership role over five years, eventually managing operations, finances, and a team of volunteers across a wide range of events and programmes.
Event Operations at Scale
I was responsible for planning, staffing, and running events — many with 500+ guests — managing everything from logistics and bar operations to volunteer coordination and guest experience. Staying calm under pressure and solving problems before they escalate became second nature.
"He has always been willing to put in the extra effort to make all our guests feel welcome." — Niels Overgaard, Activity Manager
International Community Integration
As part of the international group and ESN Aarhus, I played a central role in welcoming and integrating international students into the Aarhus community — helping people from dozens of countries feel at home in a new city. This shaped how I think about inclusion, intercultural communication, and community building.
Volunteer Leadership & Training
I took on responsibility for coaching and onboarding new volunteers — training them in bar operations, event management, and the culture of the organisation. I served as Treasurer, managing budgets and financial reporting for the organisation.
